The Broadway Club presents STUNG - a tribute to The Police and Sting

Doors open 8pm

Stung is here to fulfill an experience you can’t get anywhere else anymore—the sound of The Police rocking out live! Voted “Best Cover Band” by the San Francisco Bay Guardian, Stung captures the raw energy of The Police blistering through heyday hits such as “Roxanne” and “Message in a Bottle,” and plays the best Sting solo material in the same power trio configuration answering the burning question, “What would songs such as “We’ll Be Together,” and “If I Ever Lose My Faith” sound like had The Police never broke up?”

The sound of The Police is so very distinctive—Stewart Copeland’s polyrhythmic textures, Andy Summers’ guitar soundscapes, and the reggae bass lines and unmistakable high-pitched wail of Sting. From their 1978 breakthrough album Outlandous D’Amour through 1983’s swan song Synchronicity, The Police bridged elements of reggae, punk, jazz, funk and rock to create a truly signature sound.

When Stung performs its stunning re-creations of Police chart toppers such as “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic,” “Every Breath You Take,” and “King of Pain,” as well as groovy FM staples like “When the World is Running Down” and “Spirits in the Material World,” audiences remember why The Police were practically The Beatles of the late ‘70s and early ’80s. They also understand that no one other than perhaps Paul McCartney went on to greater solo success, and never fail to comment on how cool it is to hear revved up versions of “Desert Rose” and “Englishman in New York.”

Stung has all the essential elements—the hyper-syncopated rhythm, the dreamy, ethereal guitar, the high-pitched vocal wail. This San Francisco Bay Area band has wowed audiences at the hottest Area clubs and events (California State Fair, SF Black & White Ball, Bay to Breakers ‘Footstock’ Concert, Bimbo’s 365 Club, Red Devil Lounge), and around the world (Holland Tribute Band Festival). Some Bay Area enthusiasts say it’s the best Police performance since Day on the Green ’83. Witness them live for yourself. Perhaps close your eyes and you’ll forget for a moment that it’s not Sting and the Police…you’ve been Stung!

*This is a standing room general admissions show. There will be a limited number of chairs located in the back of the concert hall. Seating will be first come first served.
